Have you ever wondered:

why our townships are where they are and how these received their name?
why is it that the most extravagant mansion in the district is called Woodlands yet there is not a decent forested patch of trees to be sighted within kilometers of the property?
why the town elders of the 1880's were optimistic enough to name the town of Marburg after one of the most picturesque towns in Germany?

People who move into the district must surely ask why their street or road is named Berlins or Claus?

These questions can only be answered if local knowledge is preserved. The past will provide information for the future and anything happening today is the history of tomorrow!
